South Africa’s biggest spammers revealed
Latest ISPA Spam Hall of Shame names and shames SA’s biggest spammers and addresses resellers
The Internet Service Providers' Association (ISPA) first launched its ISPA Hall of Shame in September 2008, an initiative aimed at exposing the country’s biggest spammers. The "Hall of Shame" is a blacklist of known South African spammers, and to date the project has shown good results.
Numerous local spammers have seen the error of their ways, and have signed an undertaking to observe best practice in the sending of commercial email. Some other spammers are however less remorseful, and continue to spam local internet users and even resell email databases.
ISPA has released its latest spammer’s Hall of Shame, naming and shaming South Africa’s biggest spammers and email address resellers. The following South African spammers were identified in the latest ISPA report:

- Computer Corporation Marketing
- Bridging Finance | Making money with SMS Shortcodes | Bizopp
- C2IT
- Creativehearts.co.za
- Burgundyrealty
- AstroTech Training
- Brain Power
- VillaSienna
- Werner van Brakel – GVB Holdings
- Secrets2Success
- Mail Burst
- World of Savings
- Property Auction
- info@our-email.co.za
- Urban Solar
- Cartrader.co.za
- The Convenient Shopper
- F2E Admin
- Golf Resorts Club
- Purdon Enterprises
- Property Investment Corporation
This list has grown from 18 spammers last year to 25 spammers, an indication of the escalating battle with unsolicited bulk email sending in the country. The list of email address resellers also grew from 8 offenders last year to the current 11. The following address resellers were identified in the latest ISPA report:
