Opera has released the latest version of their Web browser with a new integrated content delivery platform

Opera has released version 10.10 of the Opera Web browser, that comes with a new technology platform – Opera Unite – which provides a platform for content sharing directly between devices.

By wrapping both a Web browser and a Web server into one package, Opera Unite challenges the conventional, semi-private methods of sharing content.

“We promised Opera Unite would reinvent the Web,” said Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera. “What we are really doing is reinventing how we as consumers interact with the Web. By giving our devices the ability to serve content, we become equal citizens on the Web.”

“In an age where we have ceded control of our personal data to third-parties, Opera Unite gives us the freedom to choose how we will share the data that belongs to us,” von Tetzchner continued.

Opera 10.10 includes many new features, such as a photo sharing application, a streaming media player application, and Opera Turbo, which claims 80% compression of Web pages, giving a significant speed boost when browsing on slow connections.
