Telkom and MWEB have released their ADSL key performance indicators (KPIs) for January 2012 to March 2012, providing details about their latency, packet loss and jitter over the reporting period.

The ADSL KPIs are a requirement of the ADSL regulations which were published on 17 August 2006 by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA).

The regulations require Telkom and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to publish, on a quarterly basis, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) detailing at the least, packet loss, average latency and jitter for the provisioned ADSL service.

Most ADSL providers do not publish this information, but MWEB and Telkom are abiding by the regulator’s guidelines.

The following table provides an overview of the latest Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from Telkom and MWEB.
