The recent Broadband Survey sheds light on how users rate their ADSL service providers
The recent 2009 Broadband Survey attracted in excess of 2 000 participants who rated both their broadband service provider and their ISP according to a variety of criteria. This feedback makes it possible to rank local ADSL ISPs according to criteria like value-for-money, billing and technical support.
In 2008 Axxess was rated the best ISP with an average score of 88%, followed by Web Africa with 85% and Cybersmart with 81%. This year the situation looked similar: Axxess received the highest average score of 8.31 out of 10, followed by Cybersmart with 8.07, Web Africa with 8.04 and Sainet with 8.00.
The lowest rated ISPs were Telkom Internet with an average score of 5.59 out of 10 and MTN Business with 5.67. Telkom Internet was also rated the worst ADSL ISP in 2007 and 2008.
The following ADSL service providers were rated tops in the various categories:
Value for money: Cybersmart
Ease-of-use: Axxess
Billing: FNB Connect
Customer Service: FNB Connect
Technical Support: Axxess
Overall Satisfaction: Axxess
