Summary: iBurst boost data allowances on their broadband packages, and also unveiled two uncapped broadband services.

iBurst today (29 September 2011) unveiled their new broadband products, promising consumers that they will “pay less for much much more”.

The company increased their current data bundle sizes, which includes a product offering consumers 10GB of anytime data and 10GB of ‘Midnight to Modem’ data (and a USB modem) for R198 per month.

The company is also throwing in USB modems and/or Desktop routers free of charge with most data packages.

The standard iBurst uncapped service has a fair use limit of 1GB per day after which users will be throttled to 256kbps.

The iBurst uncapped+ service has a fair use limit of 3GB per day after which the user will be throttled to 384kbps. Uncapped+ subscribers will also have the option of a 2Mbps modem instead of the standard 1Mbps modems.

iBurst pointed out that traffic on their network is shaped between 08:00 and 00:00, a period in which services such as torrent downloads will be heavily affected.

The following table provides an overview of how the new packages compare with iBurst’s previous data costs.
