Vodacom has officially launched its 3GB for R199 data promotion today (7 June 2012), complementing its existing 1GB for R99 and 2GB for R149 specials.

The new promotion is essentially a 24-month Vodacom ‘broadband standard MyGig 3 data contract’ which comes with a free K3772 USB modem. At R199 per month it is a saving of R290 over the usual R489 per month.

The new 3GB promotion includes Vodacom’s Night Owl offering, where subscribers will receive 3GB of data to use between midnight and 5AM daily.

“This promotion which runs from 7 June to 31 July 2012 will provide customers with up to 59% savings during the promotional period. The offer also includes a free e-mail with 5GB storage capacity,” said Vodacom.

Good news for consumers is that this promotion is available on top-up contracts, removing a potential out of bundle bill shock.
