MyBroadband recently conducted its March 2013 broadband survey, and initial results show that Neotel’s NeoBroadband service is the top rated fixed broadband connection in South Africa.
The survey was completed by 8,220 broadband users across South Africa, who rated their broadband connection on aspects like cost, reliability, performance, support and overall satisfaction.
The survey tested users’ satisfaction with and perception of their broadband service, rather than the actual performance of the service (broadband performance indicators are available here).
Initial ratings show that Neotel’s NeoBroadband fibre services received the highest average satisfaction rating (7.79/10), followed by Neotel’s WiMax service with a score of 7.60.
Telkom’s 20Mbps and 40Mbps VDSL products were ranked third and fourth respectively.
The following table provides an overview of the initial results of the broadband survey.
|Service||Reliability||Down Speed||Up Speed||Latency||Value for money||Support||Overall satis faction||Average score|
It should be noted that these are only the preliminary results, and that the final results (which will incorporate all survey responses with statistical filtering) may differ slightly from the results in the table.
