We compare what you get from MultiChoice DStv and ODM TopTV for R99.

On Digital Media (ODM) officially unveiled their TopTV offerings last week, with channel bouquet pricing starting at R99 per month.

TopTV offers four different pay TV packages – Variety, Kids & Music, Entertainment & Knowledge and Ultimate Movies – with the entry level bouquet (Variety only) priced at R99 per month.

MultiChoice did not wait long to launch its own sub-R100 service. The company announced last Friday that its new DStv Lite service, priced at R99 per month, will offer subscribers 25 video channels, 32 radio and 10 DMX music channels.

The DStv Lite package and TopTV Variety service are similar in terms of the number of video channels on offer, but the specific content available in each bouquet may be the deciding factor for many entry-level consumers.
