Communications Minister to switch on new TV base station

Siphiwe Nyanda will switch on a new TV base station in the Agter Wizenburg Valley tomorrow
The Minister of Communications, Siphiwe Nyanda will officially switch on the television base station at the Agter Witzenberg Community Hall in the Cape Winelands District Municipality, Western Cape tomorrow, the Department of Communications announced today.
The switch-on will give the communities in and around the Cape Winelands District Municipality access to SABC 1, SABC 3 and e-tv where they previously only had access to SABC 2.
According to the department the television base station is a partnership between different spheres of government and state-owned enterprises: Department of Communications, Cape Winelands District Municipality, Sentech and the SABC.
The intention is to “educate, entertain and inform the community,” the department said in a statement.
