When Netflix launched in South Africa, the unblocking service Unotelly said – according to its count – only 678 out of the platform’s 14,156 titles were available locally.

Unotelly reported at the time that Netflix US had 5,659 titles out of over 14,000 available globally.

Since its launch, Netflix has added a number of movies and TV shows to its South African catalogue.

Unotelly’s Filmefy service suggests that Netflix’s local library has grown by 17 titles to 695, with at least some of these including multiple episodes or seasons of TV series.

The table below shows how the number of titles in the South African Netflix library has changed since launch.

Note: the number of movie titles from different categories cannot be added together to get an overall total, as some films belong to more than one category.
