President Jacob Zuma has congratulated e-News Channel Africa (eNCA), formerly known as e-News Channel, on their expansion to broadcast as far as the United Kingdom.

“We congratulate the station for this growth and expansion, which contributes positively to the development of the broadcasting industry in our country and in Africa. We sincerely hope that the outcome will be the provision of an avenue for Africans to tell their own stories to the world in their own words and perspective,” said President Zuma.

The South African broadcasting sector, radio and television, has grown considerably since the end of colonial oppression and apartheid and remains a powerful communication tool for the majority of South Africans.
