The DStv channel migration MultiChoice announced towards the end of August 2012 is set to be finalised on Monday, 22 October 2012.

MultiChoice recently sent out a letter to accredited DStv installers informing them of the deadline, which appears to have been extended from the originally intended 1 October 2012.

According to MultiChoice, any subscribers in “multi-unit dwellings” (MUD), such as apartment blocks, that use a single cable system will lose content on one of the satellite transport streams if they haven’t been updated.

The pay-TV operator urged its installers to complete all outstanding single cable systems urgently.

MultiChoice thanked their MUD Accredited Installers for working so quickly to upgrade and retune the systems of affected subscribers.

In previous communications, MultiChoice also said that it recommends the use of a 5 cable system to avoid this kind of ongoing intervention.
