Research In Motion announced BlackBerry's latest device, the BlackBerry Torch 9800 touch screen smartphone
Co-CEO of Research In Motion (RIM), Mike Lazaridis, announced the arrival of the BlackBerry Torch today.
The device features a slider design, touch screen, full QWERTY keyboard, and 5 Megapixel camera.
According to Lazaridis the BlackBerry Torch will run the new BlackBerry 6 operating system. Some of the core functionality mentioned includes a WebKit browser with a feature that’s being called “auto wrap text zoom,” as well as universal search.
Lazaridis explained that “auto wrap text zoom” will allow you to zoom into the text on a webpage and have it automatically wrap so that it can be read in the same way as an email.
Universal search allows you to search the whole device for anything. Whether you’re looking for a setting, contact, or an email, said Lazaridis, you’ll be able to find it with universal search.
