Cell C recently unveiled their 21 Mbps HSPA+ mobile broadband service and pricing. This is how it stacks up against competing services

Cell C recently launched their first ever broadband service, offering download speeds of up to 21 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 5 Mbps.

Cell C unveiled the following prepaid mobile broadband packages in its promotional campaign:

  1. An HSDPA modem capable of speeds of up to 7.2Mbps, 2GB of data every month for a period of 12 months for R1,499 once off
  2. An HSPA+ modem capable of speeds of up to 21.6Mbps, 5GB of data every month for a period of 12 months for R2,999 once off

This means that the two products will cost subscribers R63 per GB on the 7.2 Mbps, 24 GB product and R50 per GB on the 21.6 Mbps, 60 GB product – with a free modem to boot.
