BlackBerry Curve 3G launched

Research In Motion announced the launch of the new BlackBerry Curve 3G in South Africa
Research In Motion (RIM) introduced the new BlackBerry Curve 3G today. The new smartphone is now available from MTN and Vodacom, RIM said.
“The BlackBerry Curve series has been very popular in South Africa and we are excited to introduce this new model to local customers,” said Deon Liebenberg, Regional Director for Sub-Sahara Africa at Research In Motion (RIM). “The new BlackBerry Curve 3G offers users fast performance and powerful features, together with an attractive design and an affordable price.”
According to RIM the BlackBerry Curve 3G includes the following features:
1. Full-QWERTY keyboard
2. Optical trackpad
3. Built-in GPS
4. Wi-Fi
5. Dedicated media keys
6. Camera that can record video
7. microSD/SDHC slot that supports up to 32 GB memory cards
8. Support for 3G HSDPA networks
The BlackBerry Curve 3G ships with BlackBerry 5 and is BlackBerry 6 ready.
BlackBerry 6 is expected to be available for the BlackBerry Curve 3G for South African customers, subject to carrier certifications, in the coming months, RIM said.
Vodacom and MTN were unable to confirm pricing by the time of publication.
