Vodacom and Research In Motion (RIM) announced that Vodacom customers in South Africa can now buy apps on BlackBerry App World by charging the transaction directly to their contract or prepaid account.

Vodacom customers are also able to charge in-app purchases to their regular bill or deducting the costs from their prepaid account.

BlackBerry remains dominant in the South African smartphone market, but the company is struggling internationally because of increased competition from Apple and Android smartphones.
