Cell C quietly started taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4S on 29 June 2012 and plan to have the device available at retail from 15 July 2012 according to its CEO, Alan Knott-Craig.

Although it was reported in March that Cell C had reached an agreement with Apple and would be offering their products, no pricing or launch dates had been disclosed until now.

The operator will also have the iPhone 4 available in its lower cost 8GB variant, with cash pricing starting at R6,599.

Cell C can’t divulge contract pricing yet, but the operator said that the iPhone would be available across its product portfolio.

“Customers have the opportunity to apply for any iPhone variant over any Straight Up contract over any contract term with bonus data,” Knott-Craig explained.
