Discovery Vitality and Cell C have announced the launch of VitalityMobile, a partnership that will give Vitality members access to free calls when calling other VitalityMobile members.

According to Discovery, VitalityMobile aims to create a unique wellness community. “Using this interconnected community, Vitality can generate significant savings to members by offering free calls and boosting their data capabilities,” the company said.

“The genesis of VitalityMobile was the compelling trend of technology as an enabler to healthy living. From online tools that help our members reach their health goals, to mobile devices that record and track workouts – we have seen the power of technology in improving health status,” said Gidon Novick, CEO of Discovery Vitality.

“VitalityMobile is an extension of this approach, given strong evidence of the impact of community engagement in improving health status”.

According to Alan Knott-Craig, CEO of Cell C, the operator is pleased to partner with a dynamic business like Discovery Vitality.

“Mobile technologies will play a key role for healthcare in SA in the coming years and Cell C is glad to be paving the way with a partner like Discovery,” said Knott-Craig.

VitalityMobile is available to all 1.6 million Vitality members in South Africa across fitness levels and Vitality statuses.
