Cell C is in the process of updating their pre-paid smartdata packages to also benefit from “99c for Real” rates. The current rate for voice calls on these packages is R1.50 per minute.

Numerous smartphone users prefer to use an affordable data package (typically a data promotion) on their mobile phone, rather that a package which offers free minutes and free SMSes.

Contract data promotions typically allow for mobile calls (with the exception of 8ta), but the high standard call rates mean that many users are looking for a cheaper alternative.

Cell C’s pre-paid smartdata packages offer good value for money on data, and allow subscribers to load pre-paid airtime on this contract which can be used for voice calls or text messages.

The current rate for voice calls is R1.50 all-day (per minute), but Cell C said that they are in the process of updating these products to also benefit from “99c for Real” rates.
