Cell C has announced data promotions of 10GB for R149 per month, and 20GB for R249 per month, for early morning Internet users.
These two bundles are being launched in response to customer demand, Cell C said in a press statement issued today (3 October 2012).
Subscribers will be able to get their hands on the GigaNite bundles from Wednesday, 10 October 2012, which will give them cheaper data to use from midnight until 06:00, Cell C said.
The operator explained that customers can bolt the bundles onto any Cell C SmartData post-paid contract. The 10GB or 20GB GigaNite bundle will be loaded in addition to the “anytime” bundle that comes with the SmartData contract.
“Since we have significant capacity available on our network at night, we decided to pass on this benefit to customers and offer data at extremely competitive rates during this time period. Our GigaNite bundles work out to be less than 2c per MB,” said Cell C CEO Alan Knott-Craig.
Data usage from midnight until 6am will be deducted from the GigaNite bundles first, Cell C said, after which any other loaded bundle will be used. Out of bundle rates are 15c per MB.
The GigaNite data bundle will automatically be loaded on the 1st of every month and will be valid until the end of that calendar month.
Cell C said that the GigaNite offerings can be activated at any Cell C store, through the Cell C Customer Care Centre, and participating service providers from 10 October.
