Cell C has launched its “Free Weekend Special” prepaid promotion that offers 99 Cents For Real customers 100% of their weekly recharge value back in airtime to use over the weekends.

For every Rand that a customer recharges with from Monday to Sunday, Cell C will reward them with 100% of that Rand value to use over that weekend.

For example, if a user recharges with R20, they will get R20 airtime value for free to use over the weekend.

All recharges performed in the week accumulate towards a subscriber’s total bonus airtime to be used over the weekend.

The airtime can be used to make Cell C to Cell C calls, send SMSes and MMSes or for Internet data usage.

Premium rated services and all bundle recharges such as All in One vouchers will not qualify for the free bonus airtime.

All customers on the 99 Cents For Real tariff plan will automatically be eligible for the Weekend Special promotion – no opt-in is required.

“Cell C has removed all clutter from promotions, there is no minimum recharge value required to qualify for bonus airtime, there is no maximum limit to the bonus airtime you can get. That is pure simplicity,” the company said in a press statement.

“When making calls or messaging over the weekends, the bonus airtime will be used first, before their normal airtime is used. Bonus airtime accumulated during the week that is not used over the weekend will expire permanently at midnight on that Sunday.”

The promotion will be available to customers from 15 October and ends on 13 January 2013.
