Vodacom contract pricing for LTE smartphones and tablets has emerged

Vodacom’s new deal which runs from 7 November 2012 to 6 December 2012 has added a number of new LTE-capable devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S3 Note 2 LTE.

This comes after the mobile network operator previously told MyBroadband that it plans to launch these devices by early November 2012.

Vodacom explained in a press statement issued today (7 November 2012) that these devices will automatically switch to their 3G network when LTE coverage is not available, and that LTE is only available to contract customers for the moment.

LTE services will be opened to top-up and pre-paid subscribers in 2013, Vodacom added.

While Vodacom only confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE has gone on sale at Vodacom World today, there is an indication of pricing on other Samsung devices as well.

Considering that Vodacom store staff indicated this morning that some of the new deals hadn’t been loaded yet, it is best to call ahead to confirm that a particular deal is available.

In its press statement, Vodacom announced that the Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE deal on Smart Standard 229 includes an additional 1GB of data per month for the first three months of the contract.

According to Vodacom store staff this extra data is also available on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE, and on the other Smart Plan packages as well.
