Roaming bill shock is a reality for most travellers from any country around the world when it comes to data usage. Forums are full of complaints from users, particularly smartphone user -. Its not a uniquely South African thing, which is likely why the operatora are unable to make too many pricing adjustments.

This is bull. So now we have another toothless authority where service providers can claim they are regulated by another authority. I'm sure if the intent of the act is taken into consideration it only applies in issues where Icasa is actually regulating like the price of calls and not if data rolls over. So if a SP refuses to cancel a contract because they can't provide the service I can't lay a complaint because Icasa wasn't consulted? That is bloody ridiculous.

Also a bunch of BS statements from ISPA. ISPs don't provision on a monthly basis. Even if they did it's quite easy to measure monthly usage and anticipate and they have to do so anyway.

Going to USA next month. Almost got excited but saw its the same rates that I checked over the weekend :(

Still not too bad I guess. Just make sure your data is DISABLED. No one can afford that.
What make this even worst is that its charged in increments of 25kb's. On their website they warn you to disable your email check because this will check for example every 5minutes and just download 1kb and then you pay R3.50 per auto email check.

Still at least they show you on their website 6 steps to save. If you don't call back to RSA, just receive sms'e (free) and calls its not that bad.
