All the big wind energy projects planned for South Africa

Many new wind energy projects are planned for South Africa, including wind farms with a capacity of up to 140MW.

With numerous utility-scale wind projects coming to South Africa, the wind-energy landscape in the country is continuing to expand.

These projects form part of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement (REIPPP) programme, which aims to procure 17,800MW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.

South Africa already has 20 operational wind farms in the Western, Eastern, and Northern Cape – with another 7 under construction.
