Samsung South Africa has started sending out save the date notifications for the local launch of the Samsung Galaxy S3, set to happen on 7 June 2012.

The device was officially unveiled on the evening of 3 May 2012 at “Samsung Mobile Unpacked” in London, but MTN and Cell C told MyBroadband in February already that they plan to offer the device.

At the event, Samsung announced that the Galaxy S3 would be launched worldwide from 29 May 2012, starting with Europe.

Deon Liebenberg, managing director of Samsung South Africa, said that they would bring the Galaxy S3 to SA as close to the international launch date as possible.

MTN and Vodacom both indicated that they expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy S3 in June 2012, with Cell C aiming for a July 2012 release.
