HTC unveiled the HTC Desire X at IFA Berlin today (30 August), with a South African spokesperson saying that it is expected to launch locally during October 2012.

The device will feature a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, a 4-inch WVGA (480×800) Super LCD display, 5 megapixel camera, and Beats Audio.

In a press release issued today, HTC announced that the camera specifications are: f/2.0 28mm wide-angle lens, BSI sensor, HDR mode, and automatic adjustable flash along with its proprietary ImageChip.

As with its One range of smartphones, users can take photos while shooting video, or take screenshots of a video playing back.

Another feature shared with the One range is Dropbox integration that gives 25GB of free online storage for two years, so long as you sign up before the end of 2013.

The HTC Desire X will be available in selected markets across EMEA and Asia Pacific from September 2012, HTC announced.
