Coolest MyBroadband video you’ll see this week

What if combat robots understood what it was we asked of them?

Betrayal action short

How would you like it if your comrades in arms saw you as nothing more than convenient cannon fodder?

That’s the deep question we pretended to tackle as an excuse to run around in public wearing camo and wielding replica guns without getting arrested.

The motivation for this video came from Smart Automotive Components (SMAC), who gave out some Parrot A.R. Drones (2.0) to bloggers and journalist-types for testing, on condition they participate in a competition to see who can make the most-watched video of the drone in flight.

Since our team was somewhat larger than the one-man show the prize is aimed at, the making of this video was never about the stuff. That said, it was just the kick in the pants needed to make the Freddie Wong-esque action-short we’ve wanted to do for some time.

Though contestants could post any old video of the drone in flying somewhere “proudly South African”, we decided to take it to the next level.

Enjoy, and let us know what you think in the forum and comments below.
