The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE model will be coming to South Africa

Samsung SA announced at an event in Cape Town today (18 October 2012) that an LTE model of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 would be making its way to South Africa by the end of 2012.

MTN and Vodacom both launched the 3G version of the device towards the start of the month on a variety of contracts.

Vodacom also had the device available on pre-paid, and it is understood the device was available from Vodacom World at a cash price of R7,400.

The current retail pricing, and recommended retail price from Samsung, is around R8,000, however.

No recommended pricing for the LTE model was available at the time of writing.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 boasts a 5.5-inch 720p (720×1280) display, 1.6GHz quad-core processor, and will run on the latest iteration of Google’s mobile operating system, Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean”.

According to specifications provided by Samsung, the device is also to include a 3,100mAh battery, 2GB RAM, 16/32/64GB storage, and support for microSD up to 64GB.

Its dimensions are 151.1mm x 80.5mm x 9.4mm, and the device weighs 182.5g.
