Nokia South Africa has sent out “save the date” notifications for the morning of Friday, 16 November 2012, for the official launch of its new Lumia range of Windows Phone 8 devices.
According to the note, the launch will be held in Sandton, Johannesburg.
The Finnish phone maker previously said in a press release that the Nokia Lumia 920 would launch in South Africa during November 2012, with the Lumia 820 joining it before the end of the year.
Both phones will run on Windows Phone 8 and be available in pentaband LTE – with the Lumia 920 already confirmed for MTN and Vodacom, Nokia said.
The Nokia Lumia 920 has a 4.5-inch 768 × 1280 IPS display and features a 8.7 megapixel (MP) “PureView” camera.
Nokia bills the Lumia 820 as a “mid-range smartphone that delivers high-end performance”. It has a 4.3-inch display and boasts an exchangeable shell design.
