HTC and Valve have revealed the consumer edition of the Vive VR system powered by SteamVR.

HTC and Valve have revealed the consumer edition of the Vive VR system powered by SteamVR.

Pre-orders will open on 29 February, with deliveries set to start taking place in April.

“Vive will be delivered as a complete kit, allowing users to instantly jump into a fully immersive virtual environment using two wireless controllers, 360 degree tracking, and room scale movement sensors,” said HTC.

The Vive is priced at $799 (R12,300), and will ship with “two fully-fledged VR experiences” for a limited time.

  • Job Simulator – by Owlchemy Labs
  • Fantastic Contraption – by Northway Games and Radial Games
