The Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance (Outa) needs R6 million more to foot the bill for its legal battle against government over e-tolling, according to a report on Wednesday.
“The funding is coming, we are halfway there,” Outa chairman Wayne Duvenhage told the Business Day.
“We are confident we will get there in time, it is slower than one would have hoped.”
Outa needed R10.8 million to cover the costs of two legal cases relating to Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project.
It has raised R4.8 million so far.
The e-tolling project was recently halted after Outa filed an urgent application in the High Court in Pretoria.
The court granted an interdict preventing the SA National Roads Agency Limited from levying or collecting e-tolls pending the outcome of a judicial review.
