MyBroadband recently announced its community awards which recognize excellence from companies and individuals on the MyBroadband forums. Two categories were contested: Company representative of the year and Forum member of the year.

The community nominated and then voted for their favourite company representatives, which makes the awards a true reflection of which companies and forum members the MyBroadband community respects.

It is completely free for companies to register on MyBroadband and interact with the online community, and most of South Africa’s prominent telecoms players and ISPs are represented on the website.

MWEB, which is represented by MWEB-Guy and Will@MWEB, was voted the top represented company on MyBroadband, followed by Afrihost and 8ta.

It can be challenging to stand out on a website which attracts over 1 million unique visitors a month, but some of MyBroadband’s members have made a lasting impression through assisting other forumites and simply being great forum members.

This year Ockie, who is well known for his great cellular support, was voted MyBroadband’s top member. Last year’s winner MickeyD finished second, followed by Abzo who ranked third.

Ockie won a new iPad with Wi-Fi and 3G, while MickeyD and Abzo walked away with two smaller prizes.
