Taiwanese flat-screen maker Chimei Innolux Corp., an affiliate of technology giant Foxconn, said Wednesday it had filed more patent infringement lawsuits against Sony in the United States and China.

The company said it hoped to halt Sony’s sales and shipments of the Playstation 3 game console, Bravia LCD television, Vaio notebook computer and Cybershot digital camera usng the suits filed to the US International Trade Commission and the Delaware Federal District Court.

It has taken similar legal actions in the Chinese cities of Beijing, Chengdu, Xian and Ningbo, a company statement said.

“We have a policy to respect the intellectual properties…. We will take forceful actions to vigorously protect our rights,” said Peterson Tien, company general counsel and vice president.

Chimei Innolux in July took legal action against Sony in the US state of Arkansas and in Beijing, accusing the Japanese firm of infringing its patents in LCD televisions, digital cameras and digital photo frames.
