Nology has announced the availability of WAN routers capable of line aggregation and bonding
Nology has announced a partnership with Peplink to deliver the company’s products to South Africa.
Peplink offers a range of multi-Wide Area Network (WAN) routers that converge several WAN links and offers load balancing, automatic failover and line bonded site to site Virtual Private Network (VPN) connections.
Says Willem Venter, Technical Director at Nology: “Peplink’s products give businesses the ability to combine several Wide Area Network (WAN) interfaces, be they ADSL, iBurst, 3G or even Diginet and WiMAX, into one pipe.”
The Peplink products incorporate automatic failover, said Nology. In the event of a specific link failing, traffic can automatically be routed and load balanced across the remaining lines including USB-based 3G connections. According to Nology this is achievable irrespective of whether this is an Internet link, MPLS or bonded VPN connection.
“Load balancing has been a buzz word in the industry for years with many low cost products claiming to feature some form of load balancing capability. Many of these over-zealous claims created an expectation that was never fully met, thus leaving the end user with the perception that affordable load balancing is ‘pie in the sky,’” says Wynand Britz, from Peplink’s local office.
“The South African market, with its slow and notoriously unreliable Internet access, has been begging for a product like this and now it is available through Nology,” said Britz.
Recommended retail pricing for routers that support both site-to-site bonding and load balancing starts at R12 999 (exclusive of VAT) whereas routers that support only load balancing are set to start retailing at R3 999 (exclusive of VAT).
