Dell XPS 13 laptop comes with Ubuntu 14.04

The Dell XPS 13 developer edition combines the “performance and mobility” of the XPS 13 with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS to create a client-to-cloud solution for developers.

The Dell XPS 13 developer edition is now available in the United States. The date for global availability is yet to be announced.

Dell is starting out with three i7 configurations – including a 16GB RAM version – and plans to add an i5 option.

Pricing ranges from:

  • $1,549 – 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD
  • $2,349 – 16GB RAM and a 1TB hard drive.
