Best deals money

Large South African retailers including Incredible Connection, Dion Wired and Game have released their latest weekly technology specials. Below we’ve highlighted some of the best deals available from the retailers over the next 6 days.

Sony Playstation 3 (Incredible Connection)

Incredible Connection is busy running their annual tech trade-in special, which allows users to trade old monitors, PCs and game consoles which are either refurbished or disposed of as e-waste. On trade in, Incredible Connection give you a discount on your purchase.

When trading in any old games console, shoppers can buy a Sony Playstation 3 160GB black console for R1,999.95, an R800 saving on Incredible Connection’s regular retail price. This is one of if not the cheapest local price for a new Playstation 3 console in South Africa.

Telefunken 55” FullHD LED TV (Game)

In its weekly specials brochure, Game has a range of Telefunken LED televisions for sale. While Telefunken may not be synonymous with high end visual quality, Game does offer the 55 inch FullHD LED model for just R9,999.

This is one of the cheapest 55 inch FullHD displays available locally, and is perfect for those who prefer size over quality.

Samsung S23A350H (Incredible Connection)

Another Incredible Connection trade in special, the Samsung S23A350H is a 23 inch LED FullHD monitor on sale for R1,799.95. As shown in an earlier pricing comparison [link], this is substantially cheaper than many local online and retail stores.

As with the Playstation 3 deal, the special price is subject to the trade in of an old monitor (LCD or CRT, working or broken).

TomTom XL V4 (Game)

Game is offering the TomTom XL V4 personal navigation device for R999.95 this week. This undercuts some competitors by as much as R200, and gives you a large screen GPS with the IQ routes software built in.

The device lacks TomTom’s famous HD Traffic feature, but then again the device is substantially cheaper than TomTom devices which offer HD Traffic.
