Samsung Electronics South Africa today (27 June 2012) announced that the company has started manufacturing all computer monitors, 21 inches and above, locally.
This process is being undertaken through the Anyview Technology assembly plant responsible for the local assembly of Samsung’s TV technologies.
This move, which Samsung expects will be welcomed by the local market, ensures that the latest range of computer monitors remain competitively priced, while still giving consumers the high quality assurance associated with the brand.
“Samsung is committed to delivering innovative, smart products to our customer base, and certainly we understand that cost is a consideration, especially when examining the latest range of monitors,” said Thierry Boulanger, director of IT at Samsung Electronics SA.
“However, through this move, we can now take ownership of this process locally and deliver more cost effective monitors into the market, while not compromising on technology innovation and quality.”
According to Samsung SA the new monitors that will be introduced into the market will be full LED monitors that are energy efficient, incorporate 3D technology and provide less screen lag.
