Polish police said Thursday they had arrested 120 suspects in a new round of raids against Internet child pornography networks.
“Police raided 99 apartment, homes or offices and seized 112 computers, 47 hard disks, around 7,500 CDs and DVDs, memory sticks, disks, mobile phones, cameras and MP3 players,” Poland’s national police said in a statement.
“One hundred and twenty individuals have been arrested,” the statement added.
The operation was the first revealed this year by Polish police, who last year carried out eight sweeps as part of Europe-wide raids and arrested a total of 473 people.
The possession and distribution of child pornography in Poland carries a prison term of eight years.
