Popular micro-blogging service Twitter was unavailable to numerous Internet users, displaying the message “Twitter is over capacity” to people trying to access the service.
Twitter has shown very strong growth since it was founded in 2007. According to WikiPedia Twitter has recorded a 1500 percent growth in the number of registered users while the number of its employees has grown 500 percent.
According to uptime and error analysis service Pingdom Twitter has experienced downtime yesterday and today of 15 minutes and 20 minutes respectively.
