In 2013, the South Gauteng High Court upheld the Internet Service Providers’ Association’s (ISPA) right to name and shame spammers in its Hall of Shame.

ISPA released its first Hall of Shame report in September 2008, listing organisations which were involved in sending spam and selling email addresses.

ISPA defines all unsolicited bulk email as spam, unless there is a relationship between the parties.

ISPA said consumers should only receive bulk mail that they have requested and/or consented to receive.

Ketler Presentations, which took ISPA to court for its listing in the Hall of Shame on the basis that it was defamatory, is listed as one of the parties which are repeat offenders.
