Google is building a livestreaming app called YouTube Connect, which will work similarly to services like Periscope and Facebook Live, according to a report.

Google is building a livestreaming app called YouTube Connect, which will work similarly to services like Periscope and Facebook Live. This is according to a report by VentureBeat.

The report stated that users can log into Connect with a Google or YouTube account, and it will include a news feed, chat, and tagging functionality.

YouTube already offers livestreaming via the Creator Studio app, but, according to the report, the uptake of Periscope and Meerkat in the mobile market showed that simplifying live video streaming can make it more accessible.
