The latest DMMA/Effective Measure statistics reveal the largest South African websites

The April 2012 DMMA/Effective Measure website statistics were released recently, revealing that News24 remains the largest website in South Africa with 3 million unique monthly visitors.

Howzit.MSN was ranked second with 2.3 million unique browsers, and IOL third with 2.1 million monthly visitors.

With the SuperRugby and Formula 1 seasons in full swing, local sporting websites have performed well in April. Supersport, Supersport Mobi, Sport 24 and Planet F1 all ranked in the top 10 SA websites last month.

When looking at only South African traffic, News24 reigned supreme again with 2 million unique visitors, followed by Howzit.MSN with 1.6 million and IOL with 1.2 million visitors.
