Google Chrome is one of the most popular web browsers, and with its extension support, allows users to add greater functionality.
Rapportive, Page Snooze, Phonedeck, Google Dictionary, and Goo.gle URL Shortner, are sure to give more flexability within Google’s browser.
Page snooze
Page Snooze can help with those tab-overload moments by allowing users to put tabs to sleep for later viewing.
A time can be set on a page, with the tab then automatically opening at a later stage.
You can view and manage your snoozed tabs from the Page Snooze options page.
Phonedeck
Phonedeck works as an Android smartphone app and a Chrome extension that work together.
If an SMS is received – it finds its way to the extension. If an SMS is written on the extension, it gets sent to the phone. Users can also see who’s calling without looking at their phone, as Phonedeck will pull up any information on the caller through the browser.
Google dictionary
Once the extension is installed, double-click on a word to see an instant pop-up definition (with a link for further information) — find out exactly what “cornucopia” means without interrupting your browsing.
Rapportive
Rapportive extension adds further information to Gmail contacts. Users’ LinkedIn, Facebook, Skype, Twitter, or any other related accounts, links, and details will be brought up alongside their Gmail contact.
Also available on Firefox
Goo.gl URL Shortener
Google’s own URL shortener service can be accessed via the Chrome toolbar with this extension. It will instantly shorten the URL you’re visiting and copy that new address to the clipboard for use anywhere. It’ll even generate a QR code of the URL.
