Apple App Store now in Rand

Support for 8 new currencies added to the Apple App Store

After a period of scheduled maintenance on Thursday (25 October 2012), Apple has added support for 8 additional currencies to its App Store.

The additions include South African Rand, and in a note sent to developers Apple said that the new territories will get their own regional financial reports.

According to a report on TechCrunch, the full list of countries included in the roll out are:

  • Russia: Ruble (RUB)
  • Turkey: Lira (TRY)
  • India: Rupee (INR)
  • Indonesian: Rupiah (IDR)
  • Israel: New Shekel (ILS)
  • Saudi Arabia: Riyal (SAR)
  • South Africa: Rand (ZAR)
  • United Arab Emirates: Dirham (AED)
