Electric Corvette breaks world speed record

Genovation’s GXE – a modified Chevrolet Corvette – is now the world’s fastest street-legal electric car.

The International Mile Racing Association has stated that Genovation’s GXE – a modified Chevrolet Corvette – is the world’s fastest street-legal electric car.

According to a report by Engadget, the car hit 300km/h – as shown in the video below.

The GXE is based on a 2006 Z06 Corvette, with a battery management system, inverters, batteries, and electric motors fitted as part of the modifications.

The car produces over 522kW (700hp), according to Genovation.
