An HD version of Motorola’s current flagship handset is in the works according to images posted online by a Motorola employee.

Vic Yu, a software engineer and program manager at Motorola, uploaded images to Picasa which appear to be taken by a device known as the Motorola DROID RAZR HD.

The EXIF data embedded in the images shows that in addition to the name, the device features a camera with a lens aperture of f/2.4, hinting that the new model could be serious about photography.

This model could be the previously rumoured Motorola DROID Fighter, which may be the name for the device in American markets.

Previous rumours suggest the DROID Fighter ships with the same high capacity 3,300 mAh battery found in the RAZR MAXX device, as well as a 4.6 inch high definition screen.

The phone also lacked Android navigation buttons, possibly in favour of on-screen buttons found in the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
