Posting on its security blog, Google has shed some light on how it deals with malware sites online.
The post notes that Google protects 600 million users through built-in protection for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari that warns users about dangerous websites that they may be redirected to.
Each day the company comes across 9,500 new websites that have been infected with malware, or have been specifically designed for malicious software distribution.
The post also said that 12- to 14-million daily search queries, and 300,000 downloads, also trigger the company’s warnings on a daily basis.
Speaking of the malware, Google said, “These aren’t completely solvable problems because threats continue to evolve, but our technologies and processes do, too.”
