Facebook has acquired Spool, a mobile-bookmarking service which focuses on mobile content consumption.

The San Francisco-based startup has five employees, which have now moved onto Facebook’s payroll.

The reason for the acquisition is said to be related to Facebook looking to improve its mobile division, as the buyout is a talent acquisition of the Spool team, not their technology.

“We’re excited for the team to join and accelerate their vision at Facebook”, a Facebook representative said in a statement.
