YouTube wants your real name

Google asks to integrate your Google+ profile and real name to move away from YouTube anonymity

Google wants users of YouTube to use their real names when operating their profiles and making comments.

In an attempt to cater for the feedback to counter “low quality” YouTube comments, YouTube will offer you a few options when making your next comment.

YouTube will pull your Google+ details asking if you’d like to use your real name; you can select not to, although you’ll have to select why you decline.

The options include: “My channel is for a show or character” or “My channel name is well-known for other reasons” are two options. “I want to remain anonymous,” is unsurprisingly not one.
YouTube has addressed the outcry on its official blog:

“We realize that using your full name isn’t for everyone. Maybe people know you by your YouTube username. Perhaps you don’t want your name publicly associated with your channel. To continue using your YouTube username, just click “I don’t want to use my full name” when you see the prompt.”
