Google has revamped its PageSpeed service with a new update.

PageSpeed is a service which accelerates web browsing by caching pages in a specialised way.

The latest PageSpeed beta update improves performance by using a new rewriter called “Cache and Prioritize Visible Content”.

The new tool loads content “above the fold” first, which prioritises the content it loads ahead of taxing content, such as Javascript elements.

For pages that contain HTML that isn’t cacheable, such as when personalized info is returned, standard portions of the site are cached and displayed immediately, while other content loads normally.
